I was a guest on The Bert Show (Q100) here in Atlanta on Oct 18th and the topic of discussion was “Ask A Race”.

I found this to be VERY intriguing, because of the wide range of potential questioning. Bert had already said it never really got out of hand, but there where definitely going to be some interesting topics.

So, the interview begins and the first question was, “Why do black people slow down while crossing the street when they see cars coming”. I was stuck! I started to answer, but then realized I really don’t know the answer, nor do I pay attention to how a black person slows down while crossing the street.

Then I go home and see this young black kid do it and had an attitude, like “hit me! I dare you!”

I was floored. I couldn’t believe that the person who asked that question on the radio actually had a point.

I thought it was a petty question to be honest, but after reflecting on the entire interview, the experience let me know that RACiSM has a lot to do with the  attention you give it.

I as a black man will admit I idly take the time to notice what annoys me about some white people, like when they let their dogs lick them on the mouth. And I’m sure white people make the same observations about some of Us, which is what probably led to this question that was asked on Bert’s show: “Why don’t Black Men like to go down”.

Are there black people who let there dogs like them on the mouth? I don’t personally know any, but there has to be. I’m also pretty sure there are some white men who don’t go down…LOL!

Both of those stereotypes seem petty in the scheme of things.

Is that a sign that our generation is still holding on to what we know about our history? Just because there has been racial hatred for hundreds of years, do we have to perpetuate it!?

I mean, Keith Bardwell, the elected Louisiana judge who a couple of weeks refused to marry and interracial couple, openly displayed the mentality of what I call “Old School Racist”. He started his defense of his decision with the words, “I am not a racist,” claiming he was just thinking of the bi-racial children a mixed marriage could produce (I happen to be one of those children). He was obviously on the negative side of the Civil Rights movement and is SiCK about society becoming less and less “White,” with all the mixed race babies that have come out of it. Including President Obama!

Mixed raced relationships have made some of the most beautiful human beings I’ve ever seen.

So what are we doing? How do we get past the Fuckery?

I’ll tell ya! We have to admit, because of OUR HiSTORY,  that WE ALL ARE A TAD BiT RACiST!

Then we have to identify what are we being racist about.

Then you will see your personal issues with black, brown or white people are just issues You have with People.

“Old School Racists,” like the retarded Louisiana judge, believe in a Superior Race and are dead set on holding on to a dying mentality. “New School Racists” are just petty and are starting to realize that they aren’t really racist at all.

The true race is the Human Race and as generations progress, we will be one big pot of Gumbo…
